Messing with color

Scanned this ink drawing into Photoshop and did some messing with colors. The extent of my official education in art and design consists of three classes at my community college. Impressive, I know. When I was taking those classes I would pump out Photoshop “art” and my teacher liked it but I don’t really think it was any good. I recently found a stack of those old compositions. It was interesting looking back. This image looks a lot like the stuff I did back then.

Watercolor

This looked better before I scanned it in. I don’t like how my scanner handles watercolor. This is a work in progress. I need to finish the guy.

In case you haven’t already noticed, I love romantic art. Not in the sense of “Romance Novel” (except in the case of the above) but in the sense of Romanticism. I’ve never understood why some artists want to exaggerate ugliness over beauty.
